Frameworks & Indicators: Connecting the Dots
This page covers:
Relate Project Indicators to Framework Objectives
Organizations typically define a framework to structure their target and result data and indicators to specify their goals within the framework. Once you’ve created your Framework and Framework Objectives for your Project and you have set up your Project Indicators, you are ready to start relating your Project Indicators to your Framework Objectives. The Project Framework table will then show this relationship:
Here are the steps to relate Project Indicators to Framework Objectives and display this in the Project Framework:
Click on the pencil icon next to the Framework Objectives for your Project.
2. Scroll to the “Project Indicator(s)” box and type the name of the Project Indicator you want to relate to the Framework Objective. The available Project Indicators will render dynamically as you type their names. Multiple Project Indicators can be related to a single Framework Objective.
3. Click “Save” to return to the Project Framework Table and see the details about the Project’s Framework Objectives and Project Indicators.
How Cumulative indicators impact Result to Date and Total Target?
The “Cumulative?” (ampi__Cumulative__c) checkbox, located in the Project Indicator Object, allows users to control how data is displayed on the “Result to Date” (ampi__Result_To_Date__c) and “Total Target” ( ampi__Target_To_Date__c ) fields in the Log frames Table on the ManageFrameworks LWC.
Let's see how the Cumulative field works for a non-disaggregated Number indicator:
To understand the behaviour of Cumulative? field in detail for different datatypes and combinations, refer this page.
If Cumulative? Field is checked TRUE:
In this scenario, The “Result to Date” (ampi__Result_To_Date__c) and “Total Target” ( ampi__Target_To_Date__c ) fields on the Log frames table will display the Results and Targets entered for the most recent Reporting Period.
This setting is useful for clients whose Target and Result data are already cumulated. The users are required to enter the total (or cumulative) figures themselves, for each reporting period. Therefore, the system displays only the latest record for “Result to Date” and “Total Target”—as this record already reflects the cumulative data up to that point.
If Cumulative? Field is unchecked (FALSE):
The “Result to Date” (ampi__Result_To_Date__c) and “Total Target” ( ampi__Target_To_Date__c ) fields will display the cumulative sum of all results and targets across all reporting periods.
This setting is ideal for users who enter raw data for each reporting period without any pre-cumulation. Here the system will sum all results and targets across reporting periods, displaying this total in the “Result to Date” and “Total Target” fields. This provides users with a cumulative view of progress over time.
