Why this plugin?
At present, the IATI portal accepts only XML links if organizations want to publish IATI data to the IATI registry. The IATI portal does not allow users to upload XML files, instead, the platform accepts XML links of files hosted on other databases. In Amp Impact, the IATI feature created XML files, but these files are stored on Salesforce. Salesforce generates a Content Version link that cannot be referenced in the IATI Registry, therefore, organizations had to download the generated IATI XML files, host it on their databases, generate the XML link, and publish that link on IATI.
What does this plugin do?
To facilitate a more streamlined approach, the Content Version file is uploaded to the AWS bucket which generates an XML link. This link is populated on the Account record (visible below) which can be published directly on the IATI registry.
Users can now directly publish this link on the IATI registry and this link is automatically updated with IATI data if users create a new IATI XML file using the IATI flow in Amp Impact, thereby improving efficiency.
Note: The XML link will be updated with the latest data even if there is an error log generated. Users will have to generate a new XML if the existing one contains errors.
